  1. So happy for the tremendous relief you must feel! My divorce from a very similar man to your husband was finalized this past August, after 27 long years. Though I have eight children and homeschool them, what strikes me is how much TIME I have to myself now that I am no longer managing an impossible relationship! Enjoy!

  2. congratulations! i second what Camille said…divorce frees up a ton of time and energy, because we’re no longer stressing and freaking out over a boogieman all the time. xoxo

  3. Congratulations dear Ida Mae! And Cheers! Here’s to looking forward to a life of dancing, freedom, laughter, love, breathing, and being you!!! 🙂

  4. Congratulations, Ida Mae! I am a bit envious. How relieved you must feel, and such a huge weight from off your shoulders. Wish my ex-cess weight would drop off me, too! 🙂

  5. I was married for almost 23 years to an abusive, manipulative man. My divorce has been final for 5 1/2 years now. I agree with your statement “God’s merciful gift of divorce in this broken world.” It was freeing after my divorce. Freeing because I no longer had to live that way. I have not been sharing my story because of my kids. They are getting older now and can deal better with who their father really was/is being told. Slowly, I am beginning to tell my story. Not sure where in Texas you live but if you are near the DFW area I would love to meet you some time for coffee/tea.

  6. Dear Connie (it feels good to call you that),
I’ve been checking in and so thrilled that you are back, free, and writing again. I can only imagine what you’ve been through – Congratulations! I am so happy for you.
